Reflection TIME!!!

Overall in conclusion, Wobulenzi has helped me not just gain skills, but to also develop and expand on skills that I already had. For example, some skills that i did not have were:
-How to hammer.
-How to put up iron sheets.
-How to paint a full house, in and out.
-Teaching a group of 20 students how to do something for 3 days. (each day a different group)
-Cutting Papayas and Watermelons.

Skills that I developed on were:
-Painting small areas at a time, getting into tight corners.
-Working with others well.
-Communicating with others well.
-Expanding my knowledge in IT.

In Wobulenzi I didn't just give my knowledge to the students, but in return they also gave me everything they knew about anything I wanted. I felt good in this case because they did not find our workshops or ideas boring, they appreciated every ounce of fun that we could give them! When we bought them Watermelon, Papayas, Mango and vegetables I never thought someone could be so happy over a bit of food, but it turns out that they ate posho and beans every day so giving them something different was a unique and rare thing for them.

In conclusion I feel that Wobulenzi was a life changing experience, and I would like to go there on a monthly basis with a group of friends and see if they need help with anything.

Wobulenzi? Whats that?

Wobulenzi Town Academy is an academy that K.I.S.U has been going to every outdoor trip for 3 years, some students still go there till this very day! Wobulenzi Town Academy is a school that is located 1 hour away from Kampala, on our trip this year as a whole class we offered many workshops and participated in very many activities. We had morning activities being:

-Painting the mural, volunteer's house, mission statement!

Getting the words for the mission statement written out!

Painting the volunteers house from the outside.

-Building the shelter for 4 goats!

Hammering in nails so we could make the goat shelter.

Later on in the day, around 1.30 we went back and my group offered IT classes, were we taught students how to make certificates, and how to use the internet for research


-Cutting Papayas and Watermelons for the last lunch together.
